A pumping station ran with direct-on-line motor starting, with high energy consumption, mechanical wear and no visibility into process parameters.
We implemented variable frequency drives for soft starting and flow control, together with a SCADA system to monitor pressure, flow and pump status, with alarms and historization.
Energy consumption dropped by about 32%, mechanical wear was reduced, and the operator controls and supervises the station remotely, in real time.
